My 4 1/2 yr. old can cut in a straight line...

Recently, my four-and-half-year-old daughter decided she wanted bangs. She also decided that she was capable of giving herself those bangs. When I arrived home from work the day my daughter turned hairdresser, my sister showed me a small pile of blond hair. My sister was feeling quite apologetic and I assured her if my daughter was that determined it would have happened under my watch too. I then explained to my daughter how dangerous it is for her to cut her own hair and pleaded that she ask the next time she wanted her hair cut. My daughter simply stated she wanted bangs like Abilgail (a girl in her class) and she'd "promise to ask next time."

But I gotta mention, she did a pretty good job...(I wonder if she taking tips from the Hairapy Guys!)

Interesting how my 4 years-old son is into cutting his hair too! Must be a developmental stage or a quest for self-determined identity?!

Barbara-I'm going with the "quest for self-determined identity" for my daughter!
